Invisalign

Invisalign is one of the best discreet options for orthodontic care. It’s one of the most popular clear aligners out there and offers great benefits for our patients. For patients (children, teenagers or adults) that desire a more esthetic and convenient treatment option, it greatly reduces the number of office visits (important in COVID-19 climate). Heidi Harman Orthodontics is pleased to offer Invisalign and is proud to be one of the top-ranked Diamond Invisalign providers within the Kansas City area. As a Diamond Provider, we possess a large amount of relevant knowledge on how to use Invisalign to successfully complete the most intricate and complex orthodontic cases. Dr. Harman has personally treated over 1000 cases.

What is Invisalign?

In short, Invisalign clear aligners are custom aligners that are changed every 1-2 weeks, with tooth movement built in to each aligner in order to straighten teeth. But it’s so much more than just that! Dr. Harman uses advanced 3D computer digital imaging technology and depicts your complete treatment plan from the initial position of your teeth to the final position. A series of clear aligners are custom made to fit your teeth to move them little by little. There are no wires or brackets so you’ll have confidence in your smile during and after your treatment. In fact, most people won't even know you’re wearing Invisalign.

Dr. Harman is the only SureSmile provider in the Kansas City area. She uses the SureSmile program to find the best direction to move your/your child's teeth. The SureSmile technology enables orthodontists to take digital scans/digital impressions of your/your child’s teeth. By using these scans, Dr. Harman can find the best way to design custom high tech wires for the specific patient. Orthodontists that utilize SureSmile technology can ensure the braces direct the teeth in precise directions which can reduce the amount of time patients spend in braces by 30-50%. Less time means fewer appointments and out of braces sooner!

TMJ

Do you suffer from Headaches, Neck Pain, Popping/Locking Jaws? Many of these issues are related to TMJ - often due to underlying, and undiagnosed bite problems. Dr. Heidi Harman offers a proven, natural system for relieving TMJ disorders. By using advanced diagnostic technology called the iTero Scanner, Dr. Harman is able to gain exact insight into the imbalances of your bite. From this insight, Dr. Harman will make very precise adjustments to the position of your teeth and jaw through braces or Invisalign. Metal Braces

Metal braces are the most common type. Dr. Harman uses metal braces that are hypoallergenic stainless steel material which makes them more durable and with a comfortable, smaller bracket profile.

Our clear braces (brackets) are made of translucent ceramic-porcelain material that does not stain. They are most popular with patients due to their cosmetic appeal. It also reduces exposure to metal allergies.

Nickel Free Braces

For those patients with a Nickel allergy or hypersensitivity, Dr. Harman suggests Nickel-free MTX brackets as one option to reduce exposure to the Nickel Ion.

Gold Plated Braces

Gold braces are Electroplated 24 Karat gold metal brackets. Do you have a Nickel allergy or hypersensitivity? Gold braces are another great alternative for our Nickel sensitive patients.

Propel

Heidi Harman Orthodontics are proud to offer PROPEL, an advanced orthodontic technique that works with your aligners or braces to fast track your orthodontic treatment. PROPEL allows us to get most patients finished in about half the usual time. While each patient varies, many patients can now have their orthodontic treatment completed in just months instead of years.

PROPEL works with your own biology to stimulate the bone surrounding your teeth; helping the teeth to move faster and more predictably into their ideal position so we can reveal your new smile faster and in fewer visits!

VPro+

VPro+ paired with Dr. Harman’s expertise will ensure that you have the most comfortable and advanced orthodontic experience. Propel VPro+, the only high frequency vibration (HFV) device clinically proven to accelerate orthodontic tooth movement, and increase comfort. Used for only 5 minutes a day, the VPro+ may be used with aligner or braces treatment to deliver results ahead of schedule.

Child - Early Intervention

When is the best time to begin orthodontics?

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends evaluation of children no later than age 7. Early evaluation provides both timely detection of problems and greater opportunity for more effective treatment. Early intervention guides growth and development, preventing serious problems later on. When early orthodontic intervention is not necessary, Dr. Harman can carefully monitor your child’s growth and development and begin treatment when it is ideal.

Benefits To Early Evaluation:

Dr. Harman can spot subtle problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth while baby teeth are still present.
While your child’s teeth may appear straight, there could be an underlying problem that only an orthodontist can detect.
Early treatment may prevent more serious problems from developing and may take treatment at a later age shorter and less complicated.

Early evaluation/treatment may give Dr.Harman the chance to: Guide jaw growth Avoid future oral surgeries for tooth impactions or extractions. We accept most all insurance plans. Our Financial Coordinator; April, will work with you to find a payment plan that works for you and your budget.

What ages can start orthodontic treatment?

The answer is simple, ALL ages can do orthodontic treatment and Dr. Harman has offered her orthodontic experience to all ages for years!

When should Dr. Harman see my child(ren)?

Dr. Harman wants to see your child by age 7 or when permanent teeth start erupting as also recommended by the Association of Orthodontics.

How much do braces or Invisalign costs?

We are unable to give an exact cost for treatment until you have completed a consultation with Dr. Harman. We will outline the exact cost and financial options during the initial examination. We have several financing options available to accommodate your needs, and we will review these with you at the time of your exam.

Do I have to have insurance in order to start treatment? - No Insurance?

No Problem! We will customize a payment plan in order to fit your financial needs. Most Orthodontic insurance benefits only cover 10-20% of the fee and are expensive to purchase.

Do you need a dentist referral to schedule an orthodontic consultation?

You do not need a dentist referral in order to schedule a consultation with us. Many of our patients are referred by their family dentist, yet many other patients take the initiative to schedule an examination themselves.
